01/05/07 – WHAT'S UP WITH THOSE JAYS?

Stripshow will be screening in the 2007 Worldwide Short Film Festival. The film plays in the unfortunately titled "Slap n Tickle" program, June 15 and 16 at midnight. Get tickets HERE

This is what Eye Weekley had to say about Strip Show: "Once again, dynamic local duo Adam Brodie and Dave Derewlany – creators of the riotous, TIFF-screened shorts The Wrong Number and The Racist Brick – demonstrate that brevity is the soul, etc. Their Strip Show stars Rebecca Addelman as a webcam exhibitionist trying to please an oddly demanding client and runs a trim and consistently amusing three minutes." - Adam Nayman

Be on the lookout for Adam & Dave's Strip Show podcast at http://www.worldwideshortfilmfest.com

True Love will also be screening in Just For Laughs Comedia Film Festival this July. Screening dates to come.

Thank you to everyone at the San Francisco International Film Festival. Both screenings of Strip Show were sold out after word got out that there would be full frontal nudity in the Desperately Seeking Images program. Another thank-you to Ford Motor Company for manufacturing the convertible Mustang, a perfect blend of power and comfort when driving to the Sur to dry out for a while.

Fuel TV got deeper into the world of Crawbling last week with the airing of an exclusive interview with Scott Percey and Jake Tierney on The Daily Habit. Please be on the lookout for the new series Stupid Face on Fuel TV that will feature the sixteen Unreel Sports documentaries Adam and Dave have been producing for the last 8 months.

THIS IS FUNNY.

01/03/06 – AROUND THE WORLD IN 40 DAYS

Adam and Dave totally went to Berlin for the Berlinale. While there, their tour-guide Terry Brewer explained that the expression "balls to the wall" originated from all the risk-taking exhibitionists from East Berlin. Many lost their lives. Many more lost their balls.

ALSO, in case you have been living in an un-extreme cave, Adam & Dave's film Switchstance was offically declared the "non-winner" (pictured above with DP Steve Vernon) in the Fuel TV Film Experiment. Many kudos go out to Cory Adams' who was the actual winner. You can catch Adam & Dave's report on their time spent in Park City on Much Music News, Monday March 6th @ 9:30pm EST.

And Switchstance will be airing on Fuel TV starting March 5th. You can see it Sunday 03/05/2006 8:30 PM and then at 11:30 PM, Sunday 03/12/2006 9:36 PM and 12:36 AM, and finally Sunday 03/19/2006 10:37 PM repeating at 1:38 AM. All times are EST, but check your cable listings to be sure.

If you are in the Vancouver area on Monday March 6th, then please go to the Pacific Cinemateque (1131 Howe Street) to watch Adam & Dave's short film The Racist Brick along with 8 other "top-shelf" short films. The show starts at 7pm. One-half of the directing team will be in attendance to field questions of a non-racist nature.

Keep watching The Morgan Waters Show on CBC Mon-Thurs @ 4:30. Adam & Dave have helmed 6 episodes staring the "future of CBC" Morgan Waters, with hilarious guest appearances by Jon Dore, Gilson Lubin, Aaron Eves and Ed The Sock.

We would also like to take this time to pay respects to our good friend Knife Car (2006-2006). KC was the true "spirit of sundance" this year in Utah, and all visitors to 1525 Park Avenue would agree. You can read more about Knife Car here: KC R.I.P

01/01/06 – HAPPY NEW FEAR?

2) Knock Knock. (Who's There?) Comedy! was the recent cover story of Toronto's Eye Magazine. Read the online version of the article here:

The Wrong Number will be making it's world premiere on Sept 10, 9am at the Royal Ontario Museum and on Sept 15, 8:30pm at the Varsity (55 Bloor St. W)

Now check out this ripping article about Adam & Dave written by Toronto comedy ledend Nick Flanagan. Click Here To Read The Article

This is what one critic at Eye Magazine wrote about A&D's TIFF entries:

"Short films about romance tend to be boring or mawkish, but works that illuminate the Sisyphean ordeal of touch-tone phone menus are awesome. And so Adam Brodie and Dave Derewlany's progressively absurd comedy The Wrong Number towers above the other invariably deadly earnest entries in this program."

and then:

"The Racist Brick, the second film this year from Adam Brodie and Dave Derewlany, has a one-joke premise, but it's a great joke; these guys are funny."

P.S. Sorry that the new shorts in the Film/Video section do not actually play. The Webmaster is a total mongo.

14/08/05 – MOVING ON UP

Adam & Dave's short films The Racist Brick and The Wrong Number have both been selected to screen at the severely prestigious Toronto International Film Festival in September. But before that, The Racist Brick will be making it's World Premiere at the Montreal World Film Festival in the first week of September. Check the official festival websites for ticket information.

Toronto International Film Festival / Montreal World Film Festival

Lensing has officially ceased for A&D's new BravoFACT short of epic proportions True Love. Big thank-you to the cast and crew, you were hilarious and/or professional. There will be an official True Love screening party in the near future, so don't make any plans for the next month. This film should confirm your fears that relationships are total bullroar.

A&D begin filming their skateboard comedy Switchstance on August 22. The film will be 22 minutes long and premiere at X-Dance Film Festival in Park City, Utah January 2006. There is also a certain hilarious actor from a certain groundbreaking HBO show who will be flying to Toronto to star in this picture. For any people interested in appearing in a crowd scene on August 23, please email HERE. You will pretty much virtually almost be guaranteed face time.

ALSO: There are new movies up in the Films/Video section.

Keep shining.
